Ministries

In Ephesians 2, one reads that by grace we’ve been saved through faith not of our own works but a gift from God. Everyone at RVPC has gifts and tries to use them to love God and the world. We as members seek to serve God through worship, outreach and fellowship.

Our Ministry Programs:

9:30am  –  Second Saturday of the month- Women Of Prayer

Women, often including people from the community as well as RVPC, have the opportunity to grow in faith through study, prayer and fellowship.  Breakfast served.

Cooper House is the Presbyterian Campus Ministry at Virginia TechRVPC is a covenant church partner that provides financial support to the ministry. We provide home cooked meals every 5th Tuesday during the academic year. Students are invited to lead our church services including sharing their experiences on the annual mission trip. A member of RVPC serves on the PCM-VT board.

International Bible Study at 6:30pm. The study will focus on a better understanding of the culture, geography and history of the Bible.

9:30am –  Sunday School -Adult Sunday School will be on selected Sundays

Praying for each other is a very important ministry of the church family. Prayer requests may be made publicly, listed in the bulletin or given to any pastor, elder or church friend.

Each month we donate nonperishable foods to the Blacksburg Inter-Faith Food Panty. This food pantry offers basic food supplies, once a month, to low-income Blacksburg residents or those in emergency situations, including homeless individuals and families.

 

Other Supported Ministries:

RVPC supports many ministries with time, prayer and finances. These include denominational offerings such as One Great Hour of Sharing and community services such as Blacksburg Inter-Faith Food Pantry, Montgomery County Emergency Assistance and NRV Free Clinic)
